For 19 years now, Matheatre has been working, in one capacity or another, to create live theatre that inspires excitement for math and science.
And with every performance, workshop, lecture, and conference, we become more and more convinced of the importance of our work. Scientific literacy and interest are essential for a healthy society, and access points, like the performing arts, are excellent gateways for people into math and science.
While we continue to reach thousands of curious audience members, the landscape is very different than it was six years ago, so like any good scientific organism, we are adapting.
Our value (math pun intended) remains the same. We'll continue to produce experiences like FRACTURE, musicals like Calculus: The Great Musical Math-Off!, and consult on works like Imagine the Universe. But our internal organs are shifting as costs increase and budgets shrink across the industries of science and education. The main goal with this fundraiser is to transition from a year-round business to a project-focused organization, and to make that change, we have to balance some operational expenses.
For that, we need your help.
As we prepare for metamorphosis, we need financial nutrients to survive pupation. Fiscal transformers to step our voltage. Economic geometry around which we can rotate.
